Still in an arguement with James Onen (aka Fatboy) on what I benefitted from secondary school, specifically King’s College Budo. What did I learn from Budo:

  • How to lead people, was a sub-lumper and stand-in house prefect at one time, and later a community work lead.

  • How to teach myself and not depend on teachers (we have good teacher but in some areas severely lacking)

  • How do to survive and recover when down, had a suspension at one time during A-Level and it taught me alot, from dealing with parents to how to balance my new found notoriety with Academics, inspired me to be an A+ student

  • How a well run system operates - the school is run by the kids not teachers who offer guidance and authority, so delegation, institutions and structures are important, this re-inforces what my culture teaches me (Fatboy would agrue violently against it)

  • How to surivie in a society that values those who are better - you had to be good at something, whether sports, loaded parents, academics, good with girls, good dancer, or notorious. I developed a wide range of survival skills so that even if I did not stand out, I knew my way around, and the skills are still aiding me now

So what did I learn, a few little things which may or may not be useful, but which make me who I am
